Spaghetti Sauce

I have tried many different spaghetti sauce recipes over the years, and none have been "good".  Well, I would say they didn't meet my expectations.  This sauce was easy, good and convenient.  I found this on Pinterest from My Recipe Magic.  It is a keeper!!  Hope you enjoy it!

1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano

Barbecue Sauce

My son would eat barbecue sauce on anything, so we go through quite a bit of it.  Upon reading the ingredients, I realized that commercial barbecue is not the best of things to eat.  So I began a quest to find a good thick sauce that could be used pork, chicken or anything else you would want to be sauce on.  I got this easy sauce recipe from Dads Cook Dinner.  As you can see, this recipe can easily be adapted to your tastes and needs.  Hope you enjoy it like we do!!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup ketchup (I use my homemade ketchup you can find on this blog)
  • 1/4 cup molasses (or brown sugar, or honey - I think molasses is a better choice but it is your choice)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Franks Red Hot or any other hot sauce

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients in a bowl.
2. Whisk to combine

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt

Shrimp Sauce

Once again, I will say that I will make things from scratch because I try to stay away from processed foods that contain preservatives and other junk that we do not need to eat.  I love shrimp sauce on my homemade fried rice.  :)

1/4 cup Water
1 Tablespoon Contadina Tomato Paste (unseasoned)

(You can also add a pinch of ground ginger and a little bit more of sugar to fit more of your likes.)

Directions:
  • In a blender add Mayo, Water, Paste, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Paprika and cayenne if desired.
  • Blend until all incorporated.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours or more to allow the flavor to set up.
